CVSS v3.1 |
Mongoose is an embedded web server and network library. Prior to 7.22, mg_path_is_sane in src/util.c read path.buf[1] without first requiring path.len to be at least two and read s[2] when only two bytes remained. Unauthenticated remote requests reaching mg_http_upload or mg_http_serve_dir with the affected short path shapes could therefore trigger one-byte heap out-of-bounds reads. On bare-metal or RTOS targets without memory protection, the adjacent byte could be exposed or influence whether a path was accepted, and instrumented builds could crash. This issue is fixed in version 7.22.
A flaw was found in GIMP when processing certain TGA image files. If a user opens one of these image files that has been specially crafted by an attacker, GIMP can be tricked into making serious memory errors, potentially leading to crashes and causing a heap buffer overflow.
A flaw was found in GIMP. The GIMP ani_load_image() function is vulnerable to a stack-based overflow. If a user opens.ANI files, GIMP may be used to store more information than the capacity allows. This flaw allows a malicious ANI file to trigger arbitrary code execution.
A privilege escalation from host to domain vulnerability was found in the FreeIPA project. The FreeIPA package fails to validate the uniqueness of the `krbCanonicalName` for the admin account by default, allowing users to create services with the same canonical name as the REALM admin. When a successful attack happens, the user can retrieve a Kerberos ticket in the name of this service, containing the admin@REALM credential. This flaw allows an attacker to perform administrative tasks over the REALM, leading to access to sensitive data and sensitive data exfiltration.
A vulnerability was found in libxml2. Processing certain sch:name elements from the input XML file can trigger a memory corruption issue. This flaw allows an attacker to craft a malicious XML input file that can lead libxml to crash, resulting in a denial of service or other possible undefined behavior due to sensitive data being corrupted in memory.
A flaw was found in the X Rendering extension's handling of animated cursors. If a client provides no cursors, the server assumes at least one is present, leading to an out-of-bounds read and potential crash.
A buffer overflow flaw was found in X.Org and Xwayland. The code in XkbVModMaskText() allocates a fixed-sized buffer on the stack and copies the names of the virtual modifiers to that buffer. The code fails to check the bounds of the buffer and would copy the data regardless of the size.
A flaw was found in the cookie date handling logic of the libsoup HTTP library, widely used by GNOME and other applications for web communication. When processing cookies with specially crafted expiration dates, the library may perform an out-of-bounds memory read. This flaw could result in unintended disclosure of memory contents, potentially exposing sensitive information from the process using libsoup.
A flaw was found in the X.org server. Due to improperly tracked allocation size in _XkbSetCompatMap, a local attacker may be able to trigger a buffer overflow condition via a specially crafted payload, leading to denial of service or local privilege escalation in distributions where the X.org server is run with root privileges.
A flaw was found in libsoup, where the soup_headers_parse_request() function may be vulnerable to an out-of-bound read. This flaw allows a malicious user to use a specially crafted HTTP request to crash the HTTP server.
A flaw was found in WebKitGTK and WPE WebKit. This vulnerability allows an out-of-bounds read and integer underflow, leading to a UIProcess crash (DoS) via a crafted payload to the GLib remote inspector server.
libmt32emu before 2.8.4 contains a heap buffer overflow vulnerability in MidiStreamParserImpl::parseSysex that allows attackers to write past a heap allocation by supplying oversized unterminated SysEx messages. Attackers can feed more than 32768 SysEx data bytes through the mt32emu_parse_stream API via MIDI files, ports, or sequencer clients to corrupt heap memory and crash the application.
A stack-based buffer overflow vulnerability exists in the web management interface of affected Moxa wireless device servers. An authenticated remote attacker with low privileges could exploit insufficient bounds checking of user-supplied input, causing the web management service to become unresponsive. Restoring the service requires power cycling the affected device, while other device functions remain operational.
Tanium addressed an information disclosure vulnerability in Threat Response Client Extension.
Tanium addressed a heap-based buffer overflow vulnerability in Index.
Buffer overflow in PDFium in Google Chrome prior to 157.0.8103.38 allowed a remote attacker to execute arbitrary code inside the sandbox via a crafted PDF file. (Chromium security severity: High)
A heap-based buffer over-read vulnerability was found in the X.org server's ProcAppleDRICreatePixmap() function. This issue occurs when byte-swapped length values are used in replies, potentially leading to memory leakage and segmentation faults, particularly when triggered by a client with a different endianness. This vulnerability could be exploited by an attacker to cause the X server to read heap memory values and then transmit them back to the client until encountering an unmapped page, resulting in a crash. Despite the attacker's inability to control the specific memory copied into the replies, the small length values typically stored in a 32-bit integer can result in significant attempted out-of-bounds reads.
A heap-based buffer over-read vulnerability was found in the X.org server's ProcXIPassiveGrabDevice() function.
A heap-based buffer over-read vulnerability was found in the X.org server's ProcXIGetSelectedEvents() function.
A heap buffer overflow flaw was found in the DisableDevice function in the X.Org server. This issue may lead to an application crash or, in some circumstances, remote code execution in SSH X11 forwarding environments.
