CVSS v3.1 |
| Lodash versions 4.0.0 through 4.17.22 are vulnerable to prototype pollution in the _.unset and _.omit functions. An attacker can pass crafted paths which cause Lodash to delete methods from global prototypes.
The issue permits deletion of properties but does not allow overwriting their original behavior.
This issue is patched on 4.17.23 |
| A weakness has been identified in ractivejs ractive up to 1.4.4. Impacted is the function Ractive#set of the component Keypath Handler. Executing a manipulation can lead to improperly controlled modification of object prototype attributes. The attack may be launched remotely. The exploit has been made available to the public and could be used for attacks. The project was informed of the problem early through an issue report but has not responded yet. |
| Improper input validation in the Time Series Visual Builder (TSVB) plugin in OpenSearch Dashboards allows an authenticated remote user to execute arbitrary code on the server via a crafted JSON payload to the metrics visualization API endpoint. This issue is a form of prototype pollution that enables remote code execution.
To remediate this issue, users should upgrade to OpenSearch Dashboards 3.8 or later. |
| A vulnerability has been found in cleverbrush framework and deep up to 4.4.0. This impacts the function deepExtend of the file libs/deep/src/deepExtend.ts. The manipulation leads to improperly controlled modification of object prototype attributes. Remote exploitation of the attack is possible. The exploit has been disclosed to the public and may be used. Upgrading to version 4.4.1 will fix this issue. The identifier of the patch is 810398c1308c500c3b8b6af380b5a89371389327. You should upgrade the affected component. |
| ApostropheCMS is an open-source Node.js content management system. In 4.32.0 and earlier, PATCH /api/v1/article/:id accepts the inherited path toString.call and passes it through the utility module to apos.util.set() and apos.util.get(), allowing an authenticated editor to overwrite the shared Object.prototype.toString function's call property and cause a persistent process-wide denial of service until restart. |
| A security flaw has been discovered in alibaba-fusion next up to 1.27.34. This issue affects the function ConfigProvider.getContextProps of the file components/dialog/index.tsx of the component deepMerge. Performing a manipulation of the argument locale results in improperly controlled modification of object prototype attributes. The attack may be initiated remotely. The reported GitHub issue was closed automatically due to inactivity. |
| A vulnerability was identified in rexrainbow phaser3-rex-notes up to 1.80.17. This vulnerability affects the function SetValue of the file plugins/utils/object/SetValue.js of the component BehaviorTree Blackboard Data Interface. Such manipulation of the argument key leads to improperly controlled modification of object prototype attributes. The attack can be launched remotely. |
| Prototype pollution vulnerability in searchParamsToObject() is leading to a persistent XSS in Maps. URL parameter processing was not filtering dangerous properties like __proto__, combined with jQuery's unsafe element creation that traversed the prototype chain. |
| Browserslist is a configuration tool for sharing target browsers and Node.js versions between front-end tools. Prior to 4.28.7, normalizeStats() in node.js, reached unconditionally through getStat() and loadStat() on every browserslist() call, processes untrusted browserslist-stats.json, opts.stats, and CLI --stats data with an unguarded for...in loop and plain-object bracket access and assignment, allowing inherited Object.prototype keys including __proto__, toString, valueOf, constructor, hasOwnProperty, and isPrototypeOf to cause an uncaught TypeError or modify the prototype of the returned normalized object. This issue is fixed in version 4.28.7. |
| Mongoose is a MongoDB object modeling tool designed to work in an asynchronous environment. Prior to 6.13.10, 7.8.10, 8.24.1, and 9.7.2, passing a user-controlled update such as MyModel.updateOne(filter, req.body) can exploit Mongoose update casting with a __proto__.x dotted path under $set. Schema.prototype.path and Schema.prototype._getPathType can treat inherited properties of schema.paths and schema.nested as schema types, allowing the casting process to set $fullPath and $parentSchemaDocArray on Object.prototype before throwing. This prototype pollution makes those properties visible on newly created objects and can cause application integrity and availability impacts. This issue is fixed in versions 6.13.10, 7.8.10, 8.24.1, and 9.7.2. |
| Quasar Framework is a framework for building high-performance Vue.js user interfaces. Prior to 2.22.0, the public extend() utility in ui/src/utils/extend/extend.js recursively copied attacker-controlled object keys during extend(true, target, source) deep merges without rejecting an own __proto__ property. The merge could descend into the prototype object and write attacker-controlled properties to Object.prototype in the same JavaScript process. Applications that passed user-controlled or partially user-controlled objects to extend() could experience logic bypass, unsafe default-option injection, denial of service, or other application-specific impact when polluted properties were later consumed. This issue is fixed in version 2.22.0. |
| Trigger.dev is a platform for building and deploying fully managed AI agents and workflows. From 3.3.8 until 4.5.6, the PUT /api/v1/runs/:runId/metadata endpoint passes attacker-controlled operation.key values to new JSONHeroPath(operation.key).set(newMetadata, value) in packages/core/src/v3/runMetadata/operations.ts without rejecting dangerous constructor and prototype path segments. A caller with a normal environment API key can pollute Object.prototype in the shared webapp process, corrupting Prisma queries and Prometheus labels, breaking other tenants' worker authentication, and causing a process-wide denial of service. This issue is fixed in version 4.5.6. |
| n8n before 1.123.67, 2.31.5, and 2.32.1 contains a prototype pollution vulnerability in the VM expression engine. An authenticated user able to create or edit a workflow expression can abuse the engine's array-element access to obtain a reference to a host built-in and pollute its prototype in the main n8n process (a sandbox escape), leading to a denial of service. Both self-hosted and cloud instances running the VM expression engine are affected. |
| Versions of the package uplot before 1.6.31 are vulnerable to Prototype Pollution via the uplot.assign function due to missing check if the attribute resolves to the object prototype. |
| `scim-patch`, a library to perform SCIM patch, prior to version 0.9.1 performs prototype pollution when applying a SCIM PATCH operation whose `value` object contains a key like `"__proto__.someProp"`. After one such patch,
`Object.prototype.someProp` is set process-wide, affecting every plain object in the Node process. Any service that calls `scimPatch()` on attacker-controlled JSON (i.e. any SCIM endpoint accepting `PATCH` from an external IdP) is exploitable on a stock Node runtime. Version 0.9.1 contains a patch. A workaround is available. Calling `Object.freeze(Object.prototype)` (and the same on `Array.prototype`, `Function.prototype`) at process startup neutralizes this class of bug — assignment to a frozen prototype becomes a silent no-op in sloppy mode or a `TypeError` in strict mode. Node's `--frozen-intrinsics` flag does this for built-ins automatically. |
| Mermaid is a JavaScript tool that uses Markdown-inspired text to create and modify diagrams and charts. From version 11.5.0 until 11.16.1, Mermaid Architecture Diagrams are vulnerable to prototype pollution when a diagram defines a group with an id of __proto__. Because the group id is used directly as an object property key without validation, an attacker who can supply diagram text can pollute Object.prototype, potentially affecting the behavior of the embedding application. This issue is fixed in version 11.16.1. |
| Mermaid is a JavaScript tool that uses Markdown-inspired text to create and modify diagrams and charts. Prior to 10.9.8 and 11.16.1, Mermaid's configuration setters (mermaid.initialize, mermaidAPI.setConfig, and mermaidAPI.updateSiteConfig) merge caller-supplied configuration into Mermaid's internal config using the assignWithDepth deep-merge helper, which is vulnerable to prototype pollution. This is only exploitable if an application forwards untrusted data directly into one of these configuration entry points, which is outside their documented usage; diagram-supplied configuration (e.g. %%{init: {}}%% or YAML frontmatter) is not affected. This issue is fixed in versions 10.9.8 and 11.16.1. |
| Electron is a framework for writing cross-platform desktop applications using JavaScript, HTML and CSS. Prior to 39.8.9, 40.9.2, 41.2.2, and 42.0.0-beta.4, objects copied across the contextBridge boundary from untrusted content could carry an attacker-influenced prototype, enabling prototype-pollution-style attacks against preload code despite context isolation being enabled. Apps are only affected if their preload code accepts object arguments from untrusted content and reads properties from them without own-property checks, while apps that only accept primitive arguments or validate object arguments are not affected. This issue is fixed in 39.8.9, 40.9.2, 41.2.2, and 42.0.0-beta.4. |
| In Eclipse Theia versions 0.7.0 and up until including 1.73.1, the `PreferenceUtils.merge` function in `@theia/core` recursively merges preference values without rejecting prototype-related keys (`__proto__`, `constructor`, `prototype`). Because this function is invoked by `PreferenceServiceImpl.doResolve` for every preference resolution across scopes (default, user, workspace, folder), a crafted preference value in a workspace settings file (`.theia/settings.json` or `.vscode/settings.json`) can pollute `Object.prototype` when the user opens the workspace, potentially altering application logic across the Theia process. |
| Versions of the package mongo-object before 3.0.3 are vulnerable to Prototype Pollution via the expandKey() function in util.js. An attacker can modify the JavaScript prototype chain by supplying a crafted property path containing special keys such as __proto__. |
