CVSS v3.1 |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
KVM: SVM: Use the active VMCB's MSR bitmap when checking if MSR is intercepted
Use the MSR permission bitmap of the active VMCB instead of assuming that
KVM is always using vmcb02's bitmap when L2 is active, as KVM uses msrpm02
if and only if L1 wants to intercept MSR accesses, i.e. if and only if KVM
needs to merge msprm01 with msrpm12.
Don't bother tracking the virtual address of the bitmap that's being used,
as __va() is cheap on x86, and caching the virtual address would introduce
yet another source of potentially stale information. |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
ksmbd: use opener credentials for delete-on-close
Delete-on-close can be completed by deferred or durable handle teardown,
where no request work is available. Both the base-file unlink and the ADS
xattr removal consequently run with the ksmbd worker credentials and can
bypass filesystem permission checks.
Run both operations with the credentials captured in struct file when the
handle was opened. This preserves the authenticated user's fsuid, fsgid,
supplementary groups and capability restrictions at final close. |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
smb/client: fix chown/chgrp with SMB3 POSIX Extensions
Ownership (chown) and group (chgrp) modifications were being ignored when
mounting with SMB3 POSIX Extensions unless CIFS_MOUNT_CIFS_ACL or
CIFS_MOUNT_MODE_FROM_SID were also explicitly set.
Fix this by checking for posix_extensions in cifs_setattr_nounix() when
updating UID and GID, ensuring that id_mode_to_cifs_acl() is called to map
and set the ownership/group information on the server. |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
btrfs: reject new transactions if the fs is fully read-only
[BUG]
There is a bug report where a heavily fuzzed fs is mounted with all
rescue mount options, which leads to the following warnings during
unmount:

Since rescue mount options will mark the full fs read-only, there should
be no new transaction triggered.
But during unmount we will evict all inodes, which can trigger a new
transaction, and triggers warnings on a heavily corrupted fs.
[CAUSE]
Btrfs allows new transaction even on a read-only fs, this is to allow
log replay happen even on read-only mounts, just like what ext4/xfs do.
However with rescue mount options, the fs is fully read-only and cannot
be remounted read-write, thus in that case we should also reject any new
transactions.
[FIX]
If we find the fs has rescue mount options, we should treat the fs as
error, so that no new transaction can be started. |
| Insecure permissions in the AIDL interface of ProjectMAXS MAXS Module FileRead versionCode 27 allows unauthorized attackers to arbitrarily reead files outside of the sandbox via providing an absolute path. |
| GFI KerioConnect (Kerio Connect) Outlook Connector (Offline Edition), 'KOFF', before 10.0.9 Patch 2 contains a local privilege escalation vulnerability caused by weak installer permissions that leave the product directory writable by the built-in Users group. A local non-administrative attacker can replace the searchd.exe service binary used by the bundled KOFFIndexingService, which runs as LocalSystem, to execute arbitrary code with NT AUTHORITY\SYSTEM privileges upon the next service start or reboot. |
| Dell PowerProtect Data Domain, Feature Release versions 7.7.1.0 through 8.8, contain an Improper Check for Dropped Privileges vulnerability. A low privileged attacker with remote access could potentially exploit this vulnerability, leading to elevation of privileges. |
| Privilege escalation in the DOM: Navigation component. This vulnerability was fixed in Firefox 159 and Thunderbird 159. |
| Electronic delivery item Inspection Support System provided by Japan's Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism contains an improper file access permission vulnerability. Files in the installation folder of the application may be tampered with, resulting in arbitrary code execution. |
| goose from 1.28.0 before 1.44.0 contains an authorization bypass vulnerability that allows tools to run without user approval in Manual Approval mode because persisted read-only annotations are never cleared by update_goose_mode. After a session uses Smart Approval mode, prompt-injected calls to tools annotated readOnlyHint: true execute without prompting, bypassing the user's selected approval mode in PermissionInspector::inspect. |
| Incorrect default permissions in Windows Server Update Service allows an authorized attacker to elevate privileges locally. |
| Overly permissive file permissions in AWS CLI before 1.44.78 (v1) and 2.34.29 (v2) on Unix-like systems where the umask has not been configured to restrict file permissions (the default on most systems) may allow other local users on the same host to read credentials written by certain CLI subcommands (aws codeartifact login, aws iam create-virtual-mfa-device, aws deploy register).
To remediate this issue, users should upgrade to AWS CLI 1.44.78 (v1) or 2.34.29 (v2) or later. |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
KVM: nVMX: Force MSR bitmap refresh if runtime eVMCS controls are modified
Force a refresh of the vmcs02 MSR bitmap during nested VM-Enter if the
runtime eVMCS controls (pin, primary, secondary, etc.) are being updated.
If L1 isn't intercepting TPR writes, runs L2 with TPR virtualization, and
then runs the same L2 with TPR virtualization disabled, KVM will fail to
refresh msr_bitmap02 and leave TPR in passthrough mode even though TPR
virtualization is disabled. I.e. failure to refresh the bitmap lets L2 (or
L1 by proxy) read and write L0's TPR. |
| Hyland Desktop Host for Windows before 25.1.1 is vulnerable to local privilege escalation. This is caused by a privileged service running from the %PROGRAMDATA%\Hyland\DesktopHost\bin folder with weak permissions. A local user can exploit this to escalate privileges. |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
net: skmsg: preserve sg.copy across SG transforms
The sk_msg sg.copy bitmap is part of the scatterlist entry ownership
state. A set bit tells sk_msg_compute_data_pointers() not to expose the
entry through writable BPF ctx->data. This protects entries backed by
pages that are not private to the sk_msg, such as splice-backed file
page-cache pages.
Several sk_msg transform paths move, copy, split, or compact
msg->sg.data[] entries without moving the matching sg.copy bit. This can
make an externally backed entry arrive at a new slot with a clear copy
bit. A later SK_MSG verdict can then expose sg_virt(sge) as writable
ctx->data and BPF stores can modify the original page cache.
Keep sg.copy synchronized with sg.data[] whenever entries are
transferred, shifted, split, or copied into a new sk_msg. Clear the bit
when an entry is replaced by a newly allocated private page or freed.
This covers the BPF pull/push/pop helpers, sk_msg_shift_left/right(),
sk_msg_xfer(), and tls_split_open_record(), including the partial tail
entry created during TLS open-record splitting. |
| An incorrect permission assignment vulnerability in the WatchGuard Agent's log directory allows a local, authenticated non-administrative user to create, modify, append to, or delete the agent's log files and write other files into the directory. This allows an attacker to tamper with or destroy the agent's security logs and stage further local attacks by placing executable content in a directory owned by a privileged service. |
| Adm-zip before 0.6.1 contains an incorrect permission assignment vulnerability that allows attackers to set setuid, setgid, or sticky bits on extracted files when keepOriginalPermission is enabled. Attackers can craft zip external file attributes that pass unmasked into chmod, letting attacker-controlled executables gain elevated privileges when extracted as root and later run. |
| virtualenv is a tool for creating isolated virtual python environments. Prior to 21.14.9, the app-data copy seeder uses shutil.copy() to copy cached package files into later environments, causing cached source modes to override the current run's umask. A cache populated under a permissive umask can therefore produce files writable by another local account in a later traversable environment, allowing package code such as pip/__init__.py to be modified and executed by the environment owner. The attacker cannot force the earlier umask, and a private destination parent prevents access. This issue is fixed in version 21.14.9. |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
dm-integrity: replace forgeable discard filler with a keyed sector marker
The discard-block check in dm_integrity_rw_tag() treats a stored tag
of all 0xf6 bytes (DISCARD_FILLER) as proof a block was discarded and
skips HMAC verification. allow_discards is only accepted in
dm-integrity's standalone mode. An attacker with raw write access to
the backing device, but without the integrity key, can stamp any block
with an all-0xf6 tag and have it served as authentic.
Add a new "allow_discards_keyed" target argument that marks discarded
blocks with a keyed checksum of (salt || sector) instead, computed by
integrity_discard_checksum(). |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
bpf: Check pointer type for all atomic RMW paths
Atomic RMW verification records an instruction pointer type only when the
current destination is PTR_TO_ARENA. A second path can therefore reach the
same instruction with an ordinary pointer without comparing it against the
saved arena type.
The post-verification fixup uses the saved type to rewrite the instruction
to BPF_PROBE_ATOMIC for every path. Record the actual destination type for
all atomic RMW paths so the existing mismatch check rejects incompatible
uses of one instruction. |
