A vulnerability in Cisco NX-OS System Software could allow an authenticated, local attacker to bypass signature verification when loading a software patch. The vulnerability is due to insufficient NX-OS signature verification for software patches. An authenticated, local attacker could exploit this vulnerability to bypass signature verification and load a crafted, unsigned software patch on a targeted device. The attacker would need valid administrator credentials to perform this exploit. This vulnerability affects the following products running Cisco NX-OS System Software: Multilayer Director Switches, Nexus 7000 Series Switches, Nexus 7700 Series Switches, Unified Computing System Manager. Cisco Bug IDs: CSCvf16494, CSCvf23655.
A vulnerability in Cisco NX-OS System Software patch installation could allow an authenticated, local attacker to write a file to arbitrary locations. The vulnerability is due to insufficient restrictions in the patch installation process. An attacker could exploit this vulnerability by installing a crafted patch image on an affected device. The vulnerable operation occurs prior to patch activation. An exploit could allow the attacker to write arbitrary files on an affected system as root. The attacker would need valid administrator credentials to perform this exploit. This vulnerability affects the following products running Cisco NX-OS System Software: Multilayer Director Switches, Nexus 2000 Series Fabric Extenders, Nexus 5000 Series Switches, Nexus 5500 Platform Switches, Nexus 5600 Platform Switches, Nexus 6000 Series Switches, Nexus 7000 Series Switches, Nexus 7700 Series Switches, Unified Computing System Manager. Cisco Bug IDs: CSCvf16513, CSCvf23794, CSCvf23832.
Cisco Application Policy Infrastructure Controller (APIC) 1.0(1.110a) and 1.0(1e) on Nexus 9000 devices does not properly implement RBAC health scoring, which allows remote authenticated users to obtain sensitive information via unspecified vectors, aka Bug ID CSCuq77485.
Cisco NX-OS 6.0(2) and 6.2(2) on Nexus devices has an improper OS configuration, which allows local users to obtain root access via unspecified input to the Python interpreter, aka Bug IDs CSCun02887, CSCur00115, and CSCur00127.
Cisco Application Policy Infrastructure Controller (APIC) devices with software before 1.0(3o) and 1.1 before 1.1(1j) and Nexus 9000 ACI devices with software before 11.0(4o) and 11.1 before 11.1(1j) do not properly restrict access to the APIC filesystem, which allows remote authenticated users to obtain root privileges via unspecified use of the APIC cluster-management configuration feature, aka Bug IDs CSCuu72094 and CSCuv11991.
Cisco NX-OS on Nexus 9000 devices 11.1(1c) allows remote authenticated users to cause a denial of service (device hang) via large files that are copied to a device's filesystem, aka Bug ID CSCuu77225.
Cisco NX-OS 6.1(2)I3(4) and 7.0(3)I1(1) on Nexus 9000 (N9K) devices allows remote attackers to cause a denial of service (CPU consumption or control-plane instability) or trigger unintended traffic forwarding via a Layer 2 packet with a reserved VLAN number, aka Bug ID CSCuw13560.
Cisco NX-OS 6.0(2)U6(0.46) on N3K devices allows remote authenticated users to cause a denial of service (temporary SNMP outage) via an SNMP request for an OID that does not exist, aka Bug ID CSCuw36684.
The High Availability (HA) subsystem in Cisco NX-OS on MDS 9000 devices allows remote attackers to cause a denial of service via crafted traffic, aka Bug ID CSCuo09129.
The TACACS+ command-authorization implementation in Cisco NX-OS allows local users to cause a denial of service (device reload) via a long CLI command, aka Bug ID CSCur54182.
The SNMP module in Cisco NX-OS 7.0(3)N1(1) and earlier on Nexus 5000 and 6000 devices provides different error messages for invalid requests depending on whether the VLAN ID exists, which allows remote attackers to enumerate VLANs via a series of requests, aka Bug ID CSCup85616.
The HSRP implementation in Cisco NX-OS 6.2(2a) and earlier allows remote attackers to bypass authentication and cause a denial of service (group-member state modification and traffic blackholing) via malformed HSRP packets, aka Bug ID CSCup11309.
The kernel in Cisco NX-OS 5.2(9)N1(1) on Nexus 5000 devices allows local users to cause a denial of service (device crash) via crafted USB parameters, aka Bug ID CSCus89408.
The Python interpreter in Cisco NX-OS 6.2(8a) on Nexus 7000 devices allows local users to bypass intended access restrictions and delete an arbitrary VDC's files by leveraging administrative privileges in one VDC, aka Bug ID CSCur08416.
The Locator/ID Separation Protocol (LISP) implementation in Cisco IOS 15.1 and 15.2 and NX-OS 4.1 through 6.2 allows remote attackers to cause a denial of service (device reload) via a crafted header in a packet, aka Bug ID CSCuu64279.
Buffer overflow in the Smart Call Home implementation in Cisco NX-OS on Fabric Interconnects in Cisco Unified Computing System 1.4 before 1.4(1i), NX-OS 5.0 before 5.0(3)U2(2) on Nexus 3000 devices, NX-OS 4.1 before 4.1(2)E1(1l) on Nexus 4000 devices, NX-OS 5.x before 5.1(3)N1(1) on Nexus 5000 devices, NX-OS 5.2 before 5.2(3a) on Nexus 7000 devices, and CG-OS CG4 before CG4(2) on Connected 1000 Connected Grid Routers allows remote SMTP servers to execute arbitrary code via a crafted reply, aka Bug IDs CSCtk00695, CSCts56633, CSCts56632, CSCts56628, CSCug14405, and CSCuf61322.
The Message Transfer Service (MTS) in Cisco NX-OS before 6.2(7) on MDS 9000 devices and 6.0 before 6.0(2) on Nexus 7000 devices allows remote attackers to cause a denial of service (NULL pointer dereference and kernel panic) via a large volume of crafted traffic, aka Bug ID CSCtw98915.
Cisco NX-OS 5.2(5) on Nexus 7000 devices allows remote attackers to cause a denial of service (device crash) by sending a malformed LLDP packet on the local network, aka Bug ID CSCud89415.
