CVE-2024-57728 1 Simple-help 1 Simplehelp 2026-04-25 7.2 High
SimpleHelp remote support software v5.5.7 and before allows admin users to upload arbitrary files anywhere on the file system by uploading a crafted zip file (i.e. zip slip). This can be exploited to execute arbitrary code on the host in the context of the SimpleHelp server user.
CVE-2026-35359 1 Uutils 1 Coreutils 2026-04-24 4.7 Medium
A Time-of-Check to Time-of-Use (TOCTOU) vulnerability in the cp utility of uutils coreutils allows an attacker to bypass no-dereference intent. The utility checks if a source path is a symbolic link using path-based metadata but subsequently opens it without the O_NOFOLLOW flag. An attacker with concurrent write access can swap a regular file for a symbolic link during this window, causing a privileged cp process to copy the contents of arbitrary sensitive files into a destination controlled by the attacker.
CVE-2026-34078 1 Flatpak 1 Flatpak 2026-04-24 10.0 Critical
Flatpak is a Linux application sandboxing and distribution framework. Prior to 1.16.4, the Flatpak portal accepts paths in the sandbox-expose options which can be app-controlled symlinks pointing at arbitrary paths. Flatpak run mounts the resolved host path in the sandbox. This gives apps access to all host files and can be used as a primitive to gain code execution in the host context. This vulnerability is fixed in 1.16.4.
CVE-2026-32212 1 Microsoft 30 Windows 10 1607, Windows 10 1809, Windows 10 21h2 and 27 more 2026-04-24 5.5 Medium
Improper link resolution before file access ('link following') in Universal Plug and Play (upnp.dll) allows an authorized attacker to disclose information locally.
CVE-2026-40931 1 Node-modules 1 Compressing 2026-04-23 8.4 High
Compressing is a compressing and uncompressing lib for node. Prior to 2.1.1 and 1.10.5, the patch for CVE-2026-24884 relies on a purely logical string validation within the isPathWithinParent utility. This check verifies if a resolved path string starts with the destination directory string but fails to account for the actual filesystem state. By exploiting this "Logical vs. Physical" divergence, an attacker can bypass the security check using a Directory Poisoning technique (pre-existing symbolic links). This vulnerability is fixed in 2.1.1 and 1.10.5.
CVE-2008-5157 1 Uoregon 1 Tau 2026-04-23 N/A
tau 2.16.4 allows local users to overwrite arbitrary files via a symlink attack on a (1) /tmp/makefile.tau.*.##### or (2) /tmp/makefile.tau*.##### temporary file, related to the (a) tau_cxx, (b) tau_f90, and (c) tau_cc scripts.
CVE-2009-4193 1 Merkaartor 1 Merkaartor 2026-04-23 N/A
Merkaartor 0.14 allows local users to append data to arbitrary files via a symlink attack on the /tmp/merkaartor.log temporary file.
CVE-2009-4454 1 Saini 1 Videocache 2026-04-23 N/A
vccleaner in VideoCache 1.9.2 allows local users with Squid proxy user privileges to overwrite arbitrary files via a symlink attack on /var/log/videocache/vccleaner.log.
CVE-2007-5495 2 Redhat, Selinux 3 Enterprise Linux, Enterprise Linux Desktop, Setroubleshoot 2026-04-23 N/A
sealert in setroubleshoot 2.0.5 allows local users to overwrite arbitrary files via a symlink attack on the sealert.log temporary file.
CVE-2009-2939 3 Debian, Postfix, Ubuntu 3 Debian Linux, Postfix, Ubuntu Linux 2026-04-23 N/A
The postfix.postinst script in the Debian GNU/Linux and Ubuntu postfix 2.5.5 package grants the postfix user write access to /var/spool/postfix/pid, which might allow local users to conduct symlink attacks that overwrite arbitrary files.
CVE-2009-1297 2 Novell, Opensuse 2 Suse Linux, Opensuse 2026-04-23 N/A
iscsi_discovery in open-iscsi in SUSE openSUSE 10.3 through 11.1 and SUSE Linux Enterprise (SLE) 10 SP2 and 11, and other operating systems, allows local users to overwrite arbitrary files via a symlink attack on an unspecified temporary file that has a predictable name.
CVE-2009-1253 1 James Stone 1 Tunapie 2026-04-23 N/A
James Stone Tunapie 2.1 allows local users to overwrite arbitrary files via a symlink attack on an unspecified temporary file.
CVE-2007-6061 1 Audacityteam 1 Audacity 2026-04-23 N/A
Audacity 1.3.2 creates a temporary directory with a predictable name without checking for previous existence of that directory, which allows local users to cause a denial of service (recording deadlock) by creating the directory before Audacity is run. NOTE: this issue can be leveraged to delete arbitrary files or directories via a symlink attack.
CVE-2009-0032 2 Apple, Mandriva 4 Cups, Corporate Server, Linux and 1 more 2026-04-23 N/A

CVE-2008-0167 2 Debian, Gforge 2 Debian Linux, Gforge 2026-04-23 N/A
The write_array_file function in utils/include.pl in GForge 4.5.14 updates configuration files by truncating them to zero length and then writing new data, which might allow attackers to bypass intended access restrictions or have unspecified other impact in opportunistic circumstances.
CVE-2008-7247 2 Mysql, Oracle 2 Mysql, Mysql 2026-04-23 N/A
sql/sql_table.cc in MySQL 5.0.x through 5.0.88, 5.1.x through 5.1.41, and 6.0 before 6.0.9-alpha, when the data home directory contains a symlink to a different filesystem, allows remote authenticated users to bypass intended access restrictions by calling CREATE TABLE with a (1) DATA DIRECTORY or (2) INDEX DIRECTORY argument referring to a subdirectory that requires following this symlink.
