CVSS v3.1 |
| An attacker that can send mail to a user can craft a message header whose values are chosen to collide in an internal hash table, which makes the IMAP THREAD command consume CPU disproportionate to the size of the message. This is a separate issue from CVE-2026-40014 and is not addressed by that fix. Whenever a mail client issues a THREAD command on the affected mailbox, this can cause degradation or denial of service for IMAP. Monitor system for abnormal CPU usage, kill the offending process and remove the offending message from the affected mailbox. Update to non-vulnerable version. No publicly available exploits are known. |
| An unauthenticated attacker can send a truncated quoted argument to the ManageSieve login process, which makes it spin in an infinite loop consuming CPU. This can cause degradation or denial of service for Sieve script management, and repeated connections can consume all available CPU on the server. Monitor system for abnormal CPU usage and kill the offending process. Restrict network access to the ManageSieve service to trusted clients. Update to non-vulnerable version. No publicly available exploits are known. |
| An unauthenticated attacker can send an IMAP ID command with a very large number of parameters before logging in, which causes memory and CPU usage to grow disproportionately. The login process can be terminated by the out-of-memory handling, which also terminates all other connections handled by the same process. This can cause degradation or denial of service for IMAP logins. Limit the number of connections handled by a single imap-login process. This has a performance impact though. Update to non-vulnerable version. No publicly available exploits are known. |
| A host listed as a trusted proxy can send forwarding information containing a NUL byte, which crashes the login process on the following login attempt. The login process is terminated, which can cause degradation or denial of service for logins. Deployments that do not configure trusted proxies are not affected. Restrict the list of trusted proxy networks to hosts that are fully under your control. Update to non-vulnerable version. No publicly available exploits are known. |
| An attacker that has valid credentials can select a compression algorithm for the IMAP connection whose decompression state requires a large amount of memory, and open several such connections. The memory limit of the process is reached with only a few connections, terminating the process and all connections it handles, which can cause degradation or denial of service for IMAP. Disable IMAP compression. Alternatively limit the number of connections handled by a single imap-login process, though this has a performance impact. Update to non-vulnerable version. No publicly available exploits are known. |
| Uncontrolled Resource Consumption vulnerability in ash-project ash lets a slow asynchronous read spin a scheduler thread at full CPU while the framework waits for it.
Ash.Actions.Read.AsyncLimiter.await_at_least_one/1 (lib/ash/actions/read/async_limiter.ex) waited for concurrent async read tasks by polling each with Task.yield(task, 0) in a tight loop rather than blocking. While every outstanding task is still running (a slow related-data load or calculation), the loop returns immediately and repeats, busy-spinning and holding a BEAM scheduler at full CPU for the whole duration of the slow read; concurrent slow reads tie up further schedulers. The fix waits with Task.yield_many (a non-blocking sweep followed by a blocking wait with timeout: :infinity), so the process sleeps until a task completes instead of spinning.
This issue affects ash: from 2.19.0 before 3.32.2. |
| Uncontrolled Resource Consumption vulnerability in ash-project ash lets an attacker exhaust node memory by matching a filter that spans multiple to-many relationships in memory.
Ash.Filter.Runtime matches a filter against an in-memory record by first expanding the record into combinations of its related rows. flatten_relationships/2 (lib/ash/filter/runtime.ex) eagerly built the full Cartesian product across the filter's to-many relationship paths, so a record with K to-many relationships of M rows each materialized on the order of M^K scenarios before any predicate was checked. A filter or dataset that reaches several sizeable to-many relationships therefore allocates memory combinatorially and can exhaust the node. The fix streams the expansion lazily and short-circuits on the first matching scenario, bounding the work.
This issue affects ash: from 1.29.0-rc0 before 3.32.2. |
| Uncontrolled Resource Consumption vulnerability in ash-project ash allows an attacker to force an expensive regular expression to run on input that a length constraint should have already rejected.
Ash.Type.String.apply_constraints/2 (lib/ash/type/string.ex) evaluated the :match regex regardless of the min_length and max_length constraints on the same attribute. Because the length check did not gate the regex, an over-length value that the length constraint rejects still had the pattern applied to it, so the length limit that would otherwise bound the work never constrained the regex input. Against a backtracking pattern this yields catastrophic regex evaluation on attacker-sized input, and even a linear pattern runs on arbitrarily large input, consuming CPU per request. The fix skips the :match regex whenever a length constraint is violated, making the two checks order-independent.
This issue affects ash: from 0.10.0 before 3.32.2. |
| Pillow is a Python imaging library. Versions 10.3.0 through 12.1.1 did not limit the amount of GZIP-compressed data read when decoding a FITS image, making them vulnerable to decompression bomb attacks. A specially crafted FITS file could cause unbounded memory consumption, leading to denial of service (OOM crash or severe performance degradation). If users are unable to immediately upgrade, they should only open specific image formats, excluding FITS, as a workaround. |

| Tornado is a Python web framework and asynchronous networking library. Prior to 6.5.8, Tornado parses application/x-www-form-urlencoded request bodies with urllib.parse.parse_qs in tornado/escape.py without passing max_num_fields. RequestHandler._execute in tornado/web.py parses the body before handler dispatch through HTTPServerRequest._parse_body and parse_body_arguments in tornado/httputil.py, so an unauthenticated request body containing millions of separator-delimited fields can synchronously stall the single-threaded event loop and delay every connection. The body is bounded only by max_buffer_size, which defaults to 104857600 bytes. This issue is fixed in version 6.5.8. |
| SvelteKit before 2.69.1 fails to properly validate remote form function payload sizes, allowing attackers to crash the Node process by sending large payloads. Repeated exploitation causes denial of service by repeatedly crashing the application process. |
| NLTK before 3.10.3 contains a regular expression denial of service vulnerability in Pl196xCorpusReader that allows attackers to cause quadratic CPU consumption by supplying malformed TEI blocks with many unmatched opening tags. Attackers can exploit lazy regex patterns in the read_block method through public APIs like words() and tagged_words() to force repeated rescans and achieve near-quadratic runtime growth. |
| NLTK versions before 3.10.3 contain a quadratic CPU exhaustion vulnerability in XMLCorpusView._read_xml_fragment() that rescans accumulated XML fragments on every 1 KiB block read. Attackers can provide malformed XML corpus files to cause severe CPU consumption and denial of service through affected readers like BNCCorpusReader. |
| multer is a middleware for handling multipart/form-data in Node.js. In version 2.2.0, when a disk-backed upload is aborted or truncated before the write stream finishes, multer's disk storage engine removes the visible file but does not close the underlying write file descriptor, leaving a deleted but still open descriptor. A remote attacker able to reach an upload route using the built-in disk storage can send repeated aborted or malformed multipart uploads, each one leaking a file descriptor and retaining disk blocks until the process exits, which can exhaust resources and cause a denial of service. The issue is fixed in multer 2.3.0, which closes the destination write stream on abnormal source termination and defers cleanup until the stream has closed. Upgrade to multer 2.3.0 to remediate. |
| Protego is a pure-Python robots.txt parser with support for modern conventions. Prior to 0.6.2, protego._urlpattern._URLPattern._prepare_pattern_for_regex translates every asterisk in an Allow or Disallow directive into a lazy regular-expression wildcard, so a directive containing many asterisks creates exponential backtracking. After protego.Protego.parse processes a crafted robots.txt file, protego.Protego.can_fetch can spend an attacker-controlled period matching a near-miss URL and deny service to the crawler. The vulnerable path is src/protego/_urlpattern.py in the _URLPattern match logic. This issue is fixed in version 0.6.2. |
| plone.app.event provides the event content type for Plone. Prior to versions 5.2.4 and 6.0.1, the iCalendar import in src/plone/app/event/ical/importer.py accepts insufficiently restricted calendar and event URLs, does not adequately bound downloaded bytes or imported events, and commits work per event. A logged-in editor can make the server request internal network resources or local calendar files, exhaust resources and take the site offline, and store a malicious event URL that executes script in another user's browser. The fix restricts accepted URLs, applies MAXIMUM_ICAL_IMPORT_SIZE_BYTES and MAXIMUM_ICAL_IMPORT_EVENTS limits, uses transaction savepoints, and validates event URLs. This issue is fixed in versions 5.2.4 and 6.0.1. |
| SvelteKit (@sveltejs/kit) versions >=2.49.0 and <=2.52.1 with experimental remote functions and form enabled contain a CPU exhaustion vulnerability in form deserialization. An attacker can send malformed form data to cause the server to become unresponsive while processing the request, resulting in denial of service. Fixed in 2.52.2. |
| SvelteKit (@sveltejs/kit) versions >=2.49.0 and <=2.52.1 with experimental remote functions (experimental.remoteFunctions) and form enabled contain a memory exhaustion vulnerability in remote form deserialization. Malformed form data can cause excessive memory allocation, crashing the server process and resulting in denial of service. Fixed in 2.52.2. |
| openssl_encrypt versions before 1.4.9 fail to enforce a time ceiling on key derivation function iteration counts specified in file metadata. Attackers can craft files with extremely high KDF iteration counts to consume CPU resources for unbounded periods before password verification occurs. |
