| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
staging: rtl8723bs: initialize le_tmp64 in rtw_BIP_verify()
Initialize le_tmp64 to zero in rtw_BIP_verify() to prevent using
uninitialized data.
Smatch warns that only 6 bytes are copied to this 8-byte (u64)
variable, leaving the last two bytes uninitialized:

warn: not copying enough bytes for '&le_tmp64' (8 vs 6 bytes)
Initializing the variable at the start of the function fixes this
warning and ensures predictable behavior. |
| pam_usb provides hardware authentication for Linux using ordinary removable media. Prior to 0.9.0, the pusb_pad_compare() function in src/pad.c only verified that the user-side pad (~/.pamusb/device.pad) could be read, but did not enforce that the system-side pad (the pad file on the USB device) was also present and readable. If the user-side pad was deleted or unreadable, the function returned a failure that was treated as non-fatal in certain code paths, allowing authentication to succeed without the USB device being verified. A local user can delete their own ~/.pamusb/device.pad to remove the USB device requirement and authenticate without the physical device. This vulnerability is fixed in 0.9.0. |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
net: usb: pegasus: validate USB endpoints
The pegasus driver should validate that the device it is probing has the
proper number and types of USB endpoints it is expecting before it binds
to it. If a malicious device were to not have the same urbs the driver
will crash later on when it blindly accesses these endpoints. |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
smb: client: use kzalloc to zero-initialize security descriptor buffer
Commit 62e7dd0a39c2d ("smb: common: change the data type of num_aces
to le16") split struct smb_acl's __le32 num_aces field into __le16
num_aces and __le16 reserved. The reserved field corresponds to Sbz2
in the MS-DTYP ACL wire format, which must be zero [1].
When building an ACL descriptor in build_sec_desc(), we are using a
kmalloc()'ed descriptor buffer and writing the fields explicitly using
le16() writes now. This never writes to the 2 byte reserved field,
leaving it as uninitialized heap data.
When the reserved field happens to contain non-zero slab garbage,
Samba rejects the security descriptor with "ndr_pull_security_descriptor
failed: Range Error", causing chmod to fail with EINVAL.
Change kmalloc() to kzalloc() to ensure the entire buffer is
zero-initialized.

| In xsltCopyText in transform.c in libxslt 1.1.33, a pointer variable isn't reset under certain circumstances. If the relevant memory area happened to be freed and reused in a certain way, a bounds check could fail and memory outside a buffer could be written to, or uninitialized data could be disclosed. |
| In numbers.c in libxslt 1.1.33, an xsl:number with certain format strings could lead to a uninitialized read in xsltNumberFormatInsertNumbers. This could allow an attacker to discern whether a byte on the stack contains the characters A, a, I, i, or 0, or any other character. |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
mctp i2c: initialise event handler read bytes
Set a 0xff value for i2c reads of an mctp-i2c device. Otherwise reads
will return "val" from the i2c bus driver. For i2c-aspeed and
i2c-npcm7xx that is a stack uninitialised u8.
Tested with "i2ctransfer -y 1 r10@0x34" where 0x34 is a mctp-i2c
instance, now it returns all 0xff. |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
mtd: intel-dg: Fix accessing regions before setting nregions
The regions array is counted by nregions, but it's set only after
accessing it:

[] index 0 is out of range for type '<unknown> [*]'
Fix it by also fixing an undesired behavior: the loop silently ignores
ENOMEM and continues setting the other entries. |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
net: ipv6: fix panic when IPv4 route references loopback IPv6 nexthop
When a standalone IPv6 nexthop object is created with a loopback device
(e.g., "ip -6 nexthop add id 100 dev lo"), fib6_nh_init() misclassifies
it as a reject route. This is because nexthop objects have no destination
prefix (fc_dst=::), causing fib6_is_reject() to match any loopback
nexthop. The reject path skips fib_nh_common_init(), leaving
nhc_pcpu_rth_output unallocated. If an IPv4 route later references this
nexthop, __mkroute_output() dereferences NULL nhc_pcpu_rth_output and
panics.
Simplify the check in fib6_nh_init() to only match explicit reject
routes (RTF_REJECT) instead of using fib6_is_reject(). The loopback
promotion heuristic in fib6_is_reject() is handled separately by
ip6_route_info_create_nh(). After this change, the three cases behave
as follows:
1. Explicit reject route ("ip -6 route add unreachable 2001:db8::/64"):
RTF_REJECT is set, enters reject path, skips fib_nh_common_init().
No behavior change.
2. Implicit loopback reject route ("ip -6 route add 2001:db8::/32 dev lo"):
RTF_REJECT is not set, takes normal path, fib_nh_common_init() is
called. ip6_route_info_create_nh() still promotes it to reject
afterward. nhc_pcpu_rth_output is allocated but unused, which is
harmless.
3. Standalone nexthop object ("ip -6 nexthop add id 100 dev lo"):
RTF_REJECT is not set, takes normal path, fib_nh_common_init() is
called. nhc_pcpu_rth_output is properly allocated, fixing the crash
when IPv4 routes reference this nexthop. |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
ext4: don't zero the entire extent if EXT4_EXT_DATA_PARTIAL_VALID1
When allocating initialized blocks from a large unwritten extent, or
when splitting an unwritten extent during end I/O and converting it to
initialized, there is currently a potential issue of stale data if the
extent needs to be split in the middle.

ext4_split_extent() first try to split this extent at B with
EXT4_EXT_DATA_ENTIRE_VALID1 and EXT4_EXT_MAY_ZEROOUT flag set, but
ext4_split_extent_at() failed to split this extent due to temporary lack
of space. It zeroout B to N and mark the entire extent from 0 to N
as written.

Fix this by pass EXT4_EXT_DATA_PARTIAL_VALID1 to ext4_split_extent_at()
when splitting at B, don't convert the entire extent to written and left
it as unwritten after zeroing out B to N. The remaining work is just
like the standard two-part split. ext4_split_extent() will pass the
EXT4_EXT_DATA_VALID2 flag when it calls ext4_split_extent_at() for the
second time, allowing it to properly handle the split. If the split is
successful, it will keep extent from 0 to A as unwritten. |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
platform/chrome: cros_ec_typec: Init mutex in Thunderbolt registration
cros_typec_register_thunderbolt() missed initializing the `adata->lock`
mutex. This leads to a NULL dereference when the mutex is later
acquired (e.g. in cros_typec_altmode_work()).
Initialize the mutex in cros_typec_register_thunderbolt() to fix the
issue. |
| Apache Airflow FAB Auth Manager contains an LDAP filter injection vulnerability (CWE-90) that allows unauthenticated attackers to exfiltrate directory data or bypass authentication. Upgrade to apache-airflow-providers-fab 3.6.4 or later. If immediate upgrade is not possible, disable LDAP authentication until the provider can be updated. |
| The deploy-stub component in Panda3D versions up to and including 1.10.16 contains a denial of service vulnerability due to unbounded stack allocation. The deploy-stub executable allocates argv_copy and argv_copy2 using alloca() based directly on the attacker-controlled argc value without validation. Supplying a large number of command-line arguments can exhaust stack space and propagate uninitialized stack memory into Python interpreter initialization, resulting in a reliable crash and undefined behavior. |
| An LDAP injection vulnerability in the LDAP Certificate repository of the XKMS server in Apache CXF may allow an attacker to retrieve arbitrary certificates from the repository.
Users are recommended to upgrade to versions 4.2.1, 4.1.6 or 3.6.11, which fix this issue. |
| Homarr is an open-source dashboard. Prior to version 1.45.3, it was possible to craft an input which allowed privilege escalation and getting access to groups of other users due to missing sanitization of inputs in ldap search query. The vulnerability could impact all instances using ldap authentication where a malicious actor had access to a user account. Version 1.45.3 has a patch for the issue. |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
netfilter: xt_IDLETIMER: reject rev0 reuse of ALARM timer labels
IDLETIMER revision 0 rules reuse existing timers by label and always call
mod_timer() on timer->timer.
If the label was created first by revision 1 with XT_IDLETIMER_ALARM,
the object uses alarm timer semantics and timer->timer is never initialized.
Reusing that object from revision 0 causes mod_timer() on an uninitialized
timer_list, triggering debugobjects warnings and possible panic when
panic_on_warn=1.
Fix this by rejecting revision 0 rule insertion when an existing timer with
the same label is of ALARM type. |

| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
smb: client: fix oops due to uninitialised var in smb2_unlink()
If SMB2_open_init() or SMB2_close_init() fails (e.g. reconnect), the
iovs set @rqst will be left uninitialised, hence calling
SMB2_open_free(), SMB2_close_free() or smb2_set_related() on them will
oops.
Fix this by initialising @close_iov and @open_iov before setting them
in @rqst. |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
libceph: Use u32 for non-negative values in ceph_monmap_decode()
This patch fixes unnecessary implicit conversions that change signedness
of blob_len and num_mon in ceph_monmap_decode().
Currently blob_len and num_mon are (signed) int variables. They are used
to hold values that are always non-negative and get assigned in
ceph_decode_32_safe(), which is meant to assign u32 values. Both
variables are subsequently used as unsigned values, and the value of
num_mon is further assigned to monmap->num_mon, which is of type u32.
Therefore, both variables should be of type u32. This is especially
relevant for num_mon. If the value read from the incoming message is
very large, it is interpreted as a negative value, and the check for
num_mon > CEPH_MAX_MON does not catch it. This leads to the attempt to
allocate a very large chunk of memory for monmap, which will most likely
fail. In this case, an unnecessary attempt to allocate memory is
performed, and -ENOMEM is returned instead of -EINVAL. |
