CVSS v3.1 |
| Permission control vulnerability in the media library module
Impact: Successful exploitation of this vulnerability may affect service confidentiality. |
An attacker can pre-create the `/Applications/Google\ Drive.app/Contents/MacOS` directory which is expected to be owned by root to be owned by a non-root user. When the Drive for Desktop installer is run for the first time, it will place a binary in that directory with execute permissions and set its setuid bit. Since the attacker owns the directory, the attacker can replace the binary with a symlink, causing the installer to set the setuid bit on the symlink. When the symlink is executed, it will run with root permissions. We recommend upgrading past version 64.0
An elevation of privilege vulnerability in the Qualcomm Wi-Fi driver could enable a local malicious application to execute arbitrary code within the context of the kernel. This issue is rated as High because it first requires compromising a privileged process. Product: Android. Versions: Kernel-3.10, Kernel-3.18. Android ID: A-32094986. References: QC-CR#2002052.
The crontab script in the ntp package before 1:4.2.6.p3+dfsg-1ubuntu3.11 on Ubuntu 12.04 LTS, before 1:4.2.6.p5+dfsg-3ubuntu2.14.04.10 on Ubuntu 14.04 LTS, on Ubuntu Wily, and before 1:4.2.8p4+dfsg-3ubuntu5.3 on Ubuntu 16.04 LTS allows local users with access to the ntp account to write to arbitrary files and consequently gain privileges via vectors involving statistics directory cleanup.
An issue was discovered in certain Apple products. macOS before 10.12 is affected. The issue involves a sandbox escape related to launchctl process spawning in the "libxpc" component.
GALAXY Apps (aka Samsung Apps, Samsung Updates, or com.sec.android.app.samsungapps) before 14120405.03.012 allows man-in-the-middle attackers to obtain sensitive information and execute arbitrary code.
Huawei switches S5700, S6700, S7700, S9700 with software V200R001C00SPC300, V200R002C00SPC100, V200R003C00SPC300, V200R005C00SPC500, V200R006C00; S12700 with software V200R005C00SPC500, V200R006C00; ACU2 with software V200R005C00SPC500, V200R006C00 have a permission control vulnerability. If a switch enables Authentication, Authorization, and Accounting (AAA) for permission control and user permissions are not appropriate, AAA users may obtain the virtual type terminal (VTY) access permission, resulting in privilege escalation.
Samsung Account (AKA com.osp.app.signin) before 1.6.0069 and 2.x before 2.1.0069 allows man-in-the-middle attackers to obtain sensitive information and execute arbitrary code.
A vulnerability in the Operations, Administration, Maintenance, and Provisioning (OAMP) credential reset functionality for Cisco Unified Customer Voice Portal (CVP) could allow an authenticated, remote attacker to gain elevated privileges. The vulnerability is due to a lack of proper input validation. An attacker could exploit this vulnerability by authenticating to the OAMP and sending a crafted HTTP request. A successful exploit could allow the attacker to gain administrator privileges. The attacker must successfully authenticate to the system to exploit this vulnerability. This vulnerability affects Cisco Unified Customer Voice Portal (CVP) running software release 10.5, 11.0, or 11.5. Cisco Bug IDs: CSCve92752.
Chameleon (five.pt) in Plone 5.0rc1 through 5.1a1 allows remote authenticated users to bypass Restricted Python by leveraging permissions to create or edit templates.
The GPU driver in Huawei P7 phones with software P7-L00 before P7-L00C17B851, P7-L05 before P7-L05C00B851, and P7-L09 before P7-L09C92B851 allows local users to read or write to arbitrary kernel memory locations and consequently cause a denial of service (system crash) or gain privileges via a crafted application.
The E-book viewer in calibre before 2.75 allows remote attackers to read arbitrary files via a crafted epub file with JavaScript.
An elevation of privilege vulnerability in the Qualcomm video driver could enable a local malicious application to execute arbitrary code within the context of the kernel. This issue is rated as High because it first requires compromising a privileged process. Product: Android. Versions: Kernel-3.10, Kernel-3.18. Android ID: A-32402303. References: QC-CR#2000664.
The kernel in FreeBSD 9.3, 10.1, and 10.2 allows local users to cause a denial of service (crash) or potentially gain privilege via a crafted Linux compatibility layer setgroups system call.
Red Hat Gluster Storage RPM Package 3.2 allows local users to gain privileges and execute arbitrary code as root.
Software Integrity Attacks vulnerability in Intel Security Anti-Virus Engine (AVE) 5200 through 5800 allows local users to bypass local security protection via a crafted input file.
Arbitrary command execution vulnerability in Intel Security McAfee Security Scan Plus (SSP) 3.11.469 and earlier allows authenticated users to gain elevated privileges via unspecified vectors.
Access control vulnerability in Intel Security Data Loss Prevention Endpoint (DLPe) 9.4.200 and 9.3.600 allows authenticated users with Read-Write-Execute permissions to inject hook DLLs into other processes via pages in the target process memory get.
The MemcmpLowercase function in Suricata before 2.0.6 improperly excludes the first byte from comparisons, which might allow remote attackers to bypass intrusion-prevention functionality via a crafted HTTP request.
Privilege escalation vulnerability in Intel Security McAfee Application Control (MAC) 7.0 and 6.x versions allows attackers to cause DoS, unexpected behavior, or potentially unauthorized code execution via an unauthorized use of IOCTL call.
