| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
ipv6: mcast: Fix use-after-free when processing MLD queries
When processing an MLD query, a pointer to the multicast group address
is retrieved when initially parsing the packet. This pointer is later
dereferenced without being reloaded despite the fact that the skb header
might have been reallocated following the pskb_may_pull() calls, leading
to a use-after-free [1].
Fix by copying the multicast group address when the packet is initially
parsed.

| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
bpf: Fix use-after-free in offloaded map/prog info fill
When querying info for an offloaded BPF map or program,
bpf_map_offload_info_fill_ns() and bpf_prog_offload_info_fill_ns()
obtain the network namespace with get_net(dev_net(offmap->netdev)).
However, the associated netdev's netns may be racing with teardown
during netns destruction. If the netns refcount has already reached 0,
get_net() performs a refcount_t increment on 0, triggering:
refcount_t: addition on 0; use-after-free.
Although rtnl_lock and bpf_devs_lock ensure the netdev pointer remains
valid, they cannot prevent the netns refcount from reaching zero.
Fix this by using maybe_get_net() instead of get_net(). maybe_get_net()
uses refcount_inc_not_zero() and returns NULL if the refcount is already
zero, which causes ns_get_path_cb() to fail and the caller to return
-ENOENT -- the correct behavior when the netns is being destroyed. |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
ALSA: pcm: fix use-after-free on linked stream runtime in snd_pcm_drain()
In the drain loop, the local variable 'runtime' is reassigned to a
linked stream's runtime (runtime = s->runtime at line 2157). After
releasing the stream lock at line 2169, the code accesses
runtime->no_period_wakeup, runtime->rate, and runtime->buffer_size
(lines 2170-2178) — all referencing the linked stream's runtime without
any lock or refcount protecting its lifetime.
A concurrent close() on the linked stream's fd triggers
snd_pcm_release_substream() → snd_pcm_drop() → pcm_release_private()
→ snd_pcm_unlink() → snd_pcm_detach_substream() → kfree(runtime).
No synchronization prevents kfree(runtime) from completing while the
drain path dereferences the stale pointer.
Fix by caching the needed runtime fields (no_period_wakeup, rate,
buffer_size) into local variables while still holding the stream lock,
and using the cached values after the lock is released. |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
exfat: fix double free in delayed_free
The double free could happen in the following path.
exfat_create_upcase_table()
exfat_create_upcase_table() : return error
exfat_free_upcase_table() : free ->vol_utbl
exfat_load_default_upcase_table : return error

This patch set ->vol_util as NULL after freeing it. |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
crypto: starfive - Do not free stack buffer
RSA text data uses variable length buffer allocated in software stack.
Calling kfree on it causes undefined behaviour in subsequent operations. |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
drm/xe/userptr: Hold notifier_lock for write on inject test path
When CONFIG_DRM_XE_USERPTR_INVAL_INJECT=y, xe_pt_svm_userptr_pre_commit()
runs vma_check_userptr() with the svm notifier_lock taken for read. The
test injection causes vma_check_userptr() to call
xe_vma_userptr_force_invalidate(), which feeds into
xe_vma_userptr_do_inval() with drm_gpusvm_ctx.in_notifier=true. That
flag tells drm_gpusvm_unmap_pages() the caller already holds
notifier_lock for write and only asserts the mode. Because the caller
actually holds it for read, the assertion fires:

Acquire notifier_lock for write in pre-commit when the inject Kconfig
is enabled, via new helpers xe_pt_svm_userptr_notifier_lock()/_unlock().
Rename xe_svm_assert_held_read() to
xe_svm_assert_held_read_or_inject_write() so it asserts the correct

(CONFIG_DRM_XE_USERPTR_INVAL_INJECT=n) keep the existing read-mode
behavior bit-for-bit.

| Privilege escalation due to use-after-free in the Graphics: Canvas2D component. This vulnerability was fixed in Firefox 154, Firefox ESR 140.14, Firefox ESR 153.1, Thunderbird 154, Thunderbird 140.14, and Thunderbird 153.1. |
| A flaw was found in libssh. If data packets are processed after a channel is closed, channel data callbacks can be invoked after the associated data has already been freed, leading to crashes or possible use-after-free conditions. |
| This CVE ID has been rejected as a duplicate. |
| When msync(MS_INVALIDATE) is called on a mapping of an unmanaged device object, the physical pages in the mapping range are marked invalid but remain in the pager's page list. A subsequent page fault will cause the fault handler to re-insert the page into the object's list. This corrupts the list, and on object destruction the page is freed twice.
An unprivileged local user with access to a device that provides memory-mapped I/O can trigger a use-after-free in the kernel, though this is limited to a pool of objects ("fictitious pages") that are never recycled for a different purpose. It may be possible to exploit this to escalate privileges. |
| The RACK setsockopt(2) handler drops the connection lock in order to copy option data from userspace, then reacquires the lock. After reacquiring, it verifies that the TCP stack had not been switched away, but did not reload its pointer to the stack's per-connection control block. If userspace switches stacks twice during this window, the check will succeed but the saved pointer will refer to freed memory.
The bug may be exploitable by an unprivileged local user to escalate privileges. |
| Nokogiri before 1.13.2 (CRuby, when using packaged libraries) ships vendored libxml2 2.9.12 and libxslt 1.1.34, which are affected by two upstream CVEs. Via CVE-2021-30560 in libxslt, an application transforming XML with untrusted XSL stylesheets is vulnerable to a denial-of-service attack. Via CVE-2022-23308 in libxml2, an application parsing an untrusted document with parse option DTDVALID set to true and NOENT set to false may be vulnerable to denial of service, memory disclosure, or code execution. Nokogiri 1.13.2 upgrades vendored libxml2 to 2.9.13 and libxslt to 1.1.35. |
| There exists a use-after-free vulnerability in the Linux kernel through io_uring and the IORING_OP_SPLICE operation. If IORING_OP_SPLICE is missing the IO_WQ_WORK_FILES flag, which signals that the operation won't use current->nsproxy, so its reference counter is not increased. This assumption is not always true as calling io_splice on specific files will call the get_uts function which will use current->nsproxy leading to invalidly decreasing its reference counter later causing the use-after-free vulnerability. We recommend upgrading to version 5.10.160 or above

| Use after free in Microsoft Edge (Chromium-based) allows an unauthorized attacker to execute code over a network. |
| The Silicon Labs SiWx917 WiFi driver's transmit callback siwx91x_send() in drivers/wifi/siwx91x/siwx91x_wifi.c frees a network packet it does not own. In the Zephyr TX path the net_pkt is owned by the L2/networking stack; the driver only borrows it to copy the frame bytes into a local net_buf. Before the fix, after transmitting, siwx91x_send() additionally called net_pkt_unref(pkt) on the caller-owned packet, dropping its last reference and returning it to the shared packet pool prematurely. This code path is compiled in by default (CONFIG_WIFI_SILABS_SIWX91X_NET_STACK_NATIVE).
The caller, ethernet_send() in subsys/net/l2/ethernet/ethernet.c, keeps using the packet after the driver returns: it reads net_pkt_get_len(pkt), updates TX statistics, and then performs its own net_pkt_unref(pkt). Because the driver already released the packet, these are use-after-free reads followed by a second unref (a double free). When concurrent network activity recycles the freed slab slot between the two unrefs, the trailing unref decrements a different, live packet's reference count and frees it, corrupting the net_pkt pool shared by both the receive and transmit paths.
The defect is exercised by ordinary transmission over the native-stack SiWx917 WiFi interface, and an adjacent attacker on the same WiFi network can induce transmissions (for example ARP or ICMP echo replies, or TCP handshakes) to drive the path. The primary observable impact is loss of availability (transmit hangs and crashes from pool corruption), with race-dependent memory corruption of the kernel networking buffer pool. The fix removes the erroneous net_pkt_unref(pkt) from siwx91x_send(); the driver's receive-path unref, which correctly frees a packet the driver itself allocated, is unaffected. |
| An attacker that has valid credentials can use a Sieve script with the editheader extension to trigger a use-after-free in the mail editing code, and to write memory contents beyond the intended buffer into the delivered mail. This causes memory leak and opportunity to do memory corruption during mail delivery, which can crash the delivery process and may allow execution of arbitrary code in the context of that process. Disable the Sieve editheader extension. Update to non-vulnerable version. No publicly available exploits are known. |
| Use after free for some Intel(R) PROSet/Wireless WiFi Software for Windows within Ring 0: Kernel may allow a denial of service. System software adversary with an unauthenticated user combined with a high complexity attack may enable denial of service. This result may potentially occur via local access when attack requirements are present without special internal knowledge and requires no user interaction. The potential vulnerability may impact the confidentiality (none), integrity (none) and availability (high) of the vulnerable system, resulting in subsequent system confidentiality (none), integrity (none) and availability (none) impacts. |
| A double free issue has been identified in libarchive's RAR5 reader. During parsing of a specially crafted RAR5 archive, the filtered_buf pointer may remain stale after being freed during unpacking state reinitialization. Subsequent processing of another archive entry can trigger a second free of the same memory region, resulting in a double-free condition. Successful exploitation may cause applications using the vulnerable libarchive API to terminate unexpectedly, leading to a denial of service. |
